The table below provides a guideline for creating an installer’s training timeline. Time may vary depending on installer’s experience, learning style and progression, and installation availability. Installers are expected to learn at a pace that encourages development and quality.
An installer must have sufficient amount of time practicing a skill prior to attempting for certification. They may begin to learn a skill before they are eligible to be certified (ie. A Certified Apprentice may learn how to install Press-In-Backing, but are not eligible to be certified for Press-In-Backing until they are a certified Journeyman Installer.)
Suggested Timeline for Installer Level Progression
Time to Certified Apprentice Installer: 25 Weeks
Time to Certified Journeyman Installer: 48 Weeks
Time to Certified Senior Installer: 1 - 2 Years
Time to Certified Master Installer: 3 - 4 Years
